Hello there. It’s been awhile.
Do you have this problem too? Where you start things, dive in, then get overwhelmed/too busy/lose interest/a combination of all three? You’re in good company here. I think there are a variety of reasons that it’s hard to finish what we’ve started. Whether it’s a new exercise habit, a diet, a hobby, a book…life is busy. It gets in the way of all the things that we want to do, while we are living our day to day lives full of stuff we have to do.
This blog fell victim to the usual excuses. I started it, was all in, and then life took over. I was upset about the election and felt I couldn’t honestly write about feeling joyful and full of gratitude. It was the holidays and I was busy. I ended up moving, and the logistics of buying/selling and packing/unpacking took over. Time went by, and it seemed like the blog was a thing of the past.
Those are valid excuses…but they’re excuses. The reality is that we make time for the things that are most important to us. Sometimes things we want to do get pushed aside for things more important, like skipping a run to spend time with a friend, but sometimes it’s easy to come up with excuses to avoid doing something that’s hard or that pushes us outside of comfort zones or that scares us.
That ends now. It feels good to be back!
